Fuel the Journey. Fill the Bellies.

By

This GivingTuesday, help us move good food to the people who need it most.

Watch the story here.

Every day in South Africa, perfectly edible food never reaches a plate. It gets stuck: in fields, in warehouses, on loading bays. It spoils before anyone has a chance to eat it.

At the very same time, one in five South Africans goes to bed hungry. Every. Single. Day.

This shouldn’t make sense. And it doesn’t, unless you understand one simple truth:

Support SA Harvest’s GivingTuesday campaign and help move rescued food across South Africa. Your donation fuels the trucks that deliver nutritious meals to communities in need.

This GivingTuesday, SA Harvest is inviting South Africans: individuals, corporates, farmers, logistics partners, the diaspora to help us prove what is possible when good food moves instead of going to waste.

From 10 November to 5 December, we’re putting our mission into motion on a national scale.

A real truck. A real journey. Real kilometres funded by real people who want to make South Africa better.

Hope on the Move: Cape Town → Johannesburg

Our ask is simple: Every rand donated keeps our trucks on the road and rescued food flowing to communities.

This isn’t symbolic. It’s literal.

Every kilometre travelled = surplus food redirected to families who need it right now.

As our fleet travels from Cape Town to Johannesburg, we’ll collect and deliver rescued food along the way — proving that when the right systems are powered, change becomes inevitable.

This is food rescue in motion. This is climate action in motion. This is community in motion.

💛 Why Fuel, Not Food?

Because the food already exists. What’s missing is the movement.

Most NGOs ask donors to buy more food. We ask South Africans to unlock the food that already exists by supporting the system that moves it.

Fuel = freedom.
Fuel = infrastructure.
Fuel = dignity delivered.

When you fund our fuel, you fund the entire chain that prevents good food from going to waste. You help drivers, warehouse teams, chefs, community leaders, and volunteers deliver meals at a fraction of the cost of traditional programmes.

This isn’t charity. It’s efficiency with heart. It’s the smartest way to fight hunger in South Africa.

Five Ways to Fuel the Journey

Whether you’re a student, a multinational corporation, or a South African living abroad, this campaign was built with you in mind.

Infographic titled “Five Ways People Like Us Fuel the Journey,” showing five supporter types: Individuals, Corporates, Farmers & Food Producers, Logistics Partners, and Global Supporters, each with a short description of how they contribute to SA Harvest’s GivingTuesday campaign.

Every contribution, small or large, keeps our wheels (and our mission!) turning.
