Hunger Relief

SA Harvest delivers nutritious ingredients which are rescued from across the food supply chain to more than 200 vetted beneficiaries across the country. These organisations collectively feed tens of thousands of people per day.

We could not have achieved what we have without the unbelievable commitment of more than 200 beneficiaries. These are men and women who, with significant personal sacrifice, prepare the food that we deliver to them and provide nutritious meals on a daily basis to the most vulnerable communities with a special focus on children, child-headed households and the elderly.

We are working tirelessly to increase capacity to serve more beneficiary organisations. However, we aim to serve our existing beneficiaries sustainably and long-term and so we only take on new beneficiaries when we know that we have the capacity to serve them adequately without diminishing our service to existing beneficiaries.

SA Harvest rescues food from across the food supply chain and delivers it to vetted beneficiary organisations. We are unfortunately not able to assist with individual requests for assistance. If you are in the Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban areas and in need of assistance, please search for a beneficiary organisation near you.

We are deeply committed to ensuring that we maintain consistent levels of food security to our existing beneficiary organisations. We are therefore only able to take on new beneficiaries when we are confident that we are able to services both existing and new beneficiaries adequately. We are currently not accepting new beneficiary organisations, but qualifying NPOs and hunger relief organisations can register their interest by clicking on the link below. Please note that we are currently only active in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, with limited reach into Bloemfontein, Nelspruit, PE and Lusikisiki.

How long is the wait list?

Demand on our services is huge and our ability to begin the service depends on a variety of factors. Essentially, when we have enough excess food donations being offered on a regular basis in your area and that matches your needs then food rescue can commence.
