SA Harvest wins two top honours at the Africa Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2025

Recognised for reverse-logistics innovation, ecosystem orchestration, and humanitarian impact!

SA Harvest received two of the highest honours at the 2025 Africa Supply Chain Excellence Awards: the Judges’ Spotlight Award (the overall award across all categories from more than 200 entries in 48 African countries) and the Humanitarian & Health Supply Chain Management Award. These accolades recognise not just what we do, but how we do it.

About the Africa Supply Chain Excellence Awards

The ASCEA recognises organisations across the continent that demonstrate innovation, sustainability, and measurable impact in their supply chains. Earning these awards places SA Harvest among Africa’s most forward-thinking logistics and humanitarian innovators.

Why this matters

The awards validate a model designed for scale: a disciplined, people-first logistics system that intercepts surplus food at source and delivers it safely and cost-effectively to communities across South Africa.

None of this would be possible without the farmers, retailers, manufacturers, and individuals who donate food into our ecosystem.

We are grateful to our donors, logistics providers, warehouse partners, and community networks who allow us to weave these threads together into one seamless, transparent system. This orchestration is what makes our model scalable and replicable nationwide.

Our award-winning model

We operate as the orchestration layer across the food value chain, but it is the collective strength of our ecosystem that makes this model possible.

“The judges recognised SA Harvest for operational excellence and social impact, combining disciplined reverse logistics with a people-first approach to serve vulnerable communities at scale. It’s a best-in-class example of supply chain for good.”

Garry Marshall, Head Judge, Africa Supply Chain Excellence Awards

Impact at scale: proof our model works

  • 24,000,000 kg of nutritious food rescued
  • 89,276,000+ meals from the food delivered to vulnerable South Africans
  • 53,000 tonnes CO₂e prevented from entering the atmosphere*

*As of 12 August 2025.

A platform for partnership

This recognition is a milestone, not the finish line. With the right partners, we can scale impact nationwide:

  • More food donations → working with farmers, retailers, manufacturers, and households who want to give good food into the system.
  • Warehouse capacity & racking → to handle growing volumes.
  • Cold-chain infrastructure → to store and move more protein and perishable goods.
  • Fleet expansion → to reach more communities, more often.
