Restonic and Furnmart Bring Comfort, Dignity, and Hope to Tehillah

By

In a world where a good night’s sleep should be a given, Restonic and Furnmart have turned it into a gift of dignity and care.

At the Tehillah Community Collaborative in Cape Town, a sanctuary for vulnerable women, children, and the elderly, many residents were living without one of life’s most basic comforts: a safe, warm mattress. That changed when Restonic, a proudly South African mattress manufacturer under the Sleep Group (KAP Industrial Holdings), stepped in to donate 40 custom-made mattresses designed for quality sleep and support.

Furnmart, one of South Africa’s most trusted homeware and furniture retailers, played a key role in bringing the opportunity to life. Not only did they facilitate the connection through SA Harvest’s national impact network, but they also went a step further, contributing top-quality mattress covers to ensure added comfort and care.

For the residents of Tehillah, the arrival of these mattresses was more than just a donation. It was a moment of joy, restoration, and recognition. There were tears. There was dancing. And there was an overwhelming sense of being seen.

“These weren’t just mattresses,”shared Zee Mapoma of SA Harvest, who was present at the handover. “They were messages of worth. For many of the women and children, this was the first time they had something soft, clean, and truly their own to sleep on.”

Sustainability with Heart

Restonic’s commitment to sustainability made the gift even more meaningful. Each mattress is made with 30% recycled fibre from textile waste. This is a powerful example of how environmental responsibility can meet human need.

This act of generosity aligns with SA Harvest’s broader vision for systemic change, where food rescue, infrastructure support, and strategic partnerships come together to deliver dignity in practical, lasting ways.

Impact That Lives On

SA Harvest’s relationship with Tehillah spans several years and has included:

This mattress intervention, however, was a direct result of what happens when like-minded brands choose purpose over passivity.

“This wasn’t a once-off act,” said Harley Caryer, Chief Growth Officer at DataOrbis and the strategic connector behind the scenes. “It’s an example of what’s possible when socially conscious businesses step forward. These ripple effects last.”

With Deepest Gratitude

To Restonic: thank you for building comfort into lives that need it most.

To Furnmart: thank you for believing in connection, compassion, and community.

And to the SA Harvest team:  thank you for being the bridge that brings heart-led partners together for real impact.

When businesses lead with purpose, dignity becomes something you can touch. Something you can deliver.
