Deloitte Africa Volunteer Day Strengthens SA Harvest’s Food-Rescue Mission in KwaZulu-Natal

By

On 27 November 2025, the Deloitte Africa audit team in Durban joined SA Harvest for a high-impact Volunteer Day at our Durban warehouse, helping us rescue food, reduce waste, and support communities facing hunger across KwaZulu-Natal.

This hands-on activation required no travel, brought the full Deloitte Africa audit team into the warehouse, and contributed directly to SA Harvest’s mission of ending hunger and food waste in South Africa.

Supporting Community Organisations Across KwaZulu-Natal

Every box sorted, every bag packed, and every pallet moved by the Deloitte Africa volunteers directly strengthened SA Harvest’s ability to serve community-based organisations (CBOs) across KwaZulu-Natal.

This additional capacity came at exactly the right time. The end of the year is when food insecurity peaks, demand on CBOs surges, and every extra pair of hands helps us move more good food to the people who need it most.

The Deloitte Africa team didn’t just volunteer. They strengthened the frontline of hunger relief.

Why Volunteerism Matters in the Fight Against Food Insecurity

A Heartfelt Thank You

Join SA Harvest in Ending Food Waste and Hunger in South Africa

SA Harvest rescues nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it to organisations supporting people facing food insecurity.

Together, we can rescue food, feed communities, and build a more just and sustainable food system for South Africa.
