We are thrilled to announce the winners of the World Food Day Poster Contest, which drew the creativity and passion of young artists in highlighting the importance of water conservation and preventing food waste. The contest featured four categories, each with its own exceptional winner, and a grand prize winner selected randomly from these category champions.

Category Winners:

Category A (5-8 years): Zirainia Sevusunker (Age 5)

Category B (9-12 years): Gabriella van Zyl (Age 10)

Category C (13-15 years): Renee Van Niekerk (Age 14)

Category D (16-18 years): Lisakhanya Maliwa (Age 18)

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to these talented young artists who have shown us the importance of protecting our precious resources. Each category winner received a hamper of goodies and a Takealot voucher from SA Harvest.

From these creative category winners, we are delighted to announce the grand prize winner. Through a random selection process, the young artist selected to receive a weekend getaway to Durban for a family of four was Zirainia Sevusunker. This coveted prize includes air tickets from Lift Airlines, a two-night bed and breakfast stay at City Lodge Hotels Durban, and unforgettable experiences.

Thanking our supporters

Our gratitude to our generous prize donors: LIFT, City Lodge Hotels Durban, The Sharks, Oh So Heavenly, and Milky Lane for their contributions to making this contest even more exciting and rewarding, and to IOL for their support in spreading the word about the contest.

We also extend our thanks to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for initiating this impactful campaign in commemoration of World Food Day. It has been an inspiring journey, and we’re proud to have played a part in drawing children’s attention to their vital role in conserving water and preventing food waste.

Stay connected with SA Harvest as we continue to celebrate our young champions and their commitment to a more sustainable future. Together, we can make a real difference. 🌍🖌️🏆
