What is Buckets of Nutrition?

This Mandela Month, help us change the story for Grade 12 learners writing their final exams under impossible circumstances.

Our aim is to deliver over 1000 care buckets filled with nutritious food, hygiene products, and exam essentials to matriculants in under-resourced communities across South Africa.

These learners face immense pressure, many study on empty stomachs, without the basic tools needed to thrive. Together, we can help them prepare with dignity, strength, and hope.

What’s in the Bucket?

Each bucket is packed with purpose:

Standard Bucket Contents

All items are shelf-stable, non-perishable, and learner-focused.

  • 1 x Pack Instant Noodles (5-pack or large)
  • 1 x Pack Soya Mince
  • 1 x 500g Rice
  • 1 x 410g Tin Fish or Pilchards
  • 1 x 410g Baked Beans
  • 1 x 500g Maize Meal or Cereal
  • 1 x Peanut Butter (200g–400g)
  • 2 x Soup Packets or Stock Cubes
  • 1 x Sugar (500g)
  • 1 x Powdered Milk (optional but ideal)
  • 1 x Roll-On Deodorant
  • 1 x Bar of Soap
  • 1 x Toothpaste (100ml)
  • 1 x Toothbrush
  • 1 x Pack Sanitary Pads (for girls)
  • 1 x A4 Writing Pad
  • 2 x Blue or Black Pens
  • 1 x Pencil
  • 1 x Ruler
  • 1 x Eraser
  • 1 x Sharpener
  • 1 x Protractor or Small Math Set
